The shelter environment can be very stressful for animals. If our appointments are booked out far in advance, the environment would cause them high amounts of stress, or if you would like to know where they end up we always recommend listing them on adoptapet.com.

If you are not having any luck finding a home through adoptapet.com and wish to surrender your animal to our shelter directly you will need to come into our facility and put down a cash deposit to setup an appointment.
Due to Finding Forever Rescue typically running at full housing capacity in our rescue, we require an appointment for all animal relinquishments. This is to ensure that all of our animals are comfortable and have the space that they need.

Cats

There will be a $40 refundable cash deposit to rent out one of our pet carriers to transport cats to us and to hold the appointment. All cats MUST be transported in a pet carrier. You may donate your carrier if you wish, but would still be required to pay a deposit to hold the appointment. If you are looking to relinquish more than one cat, the total cash deposit will depend on number of cats carriers required, which is dependent on the number and size of the cats.
If you are looking to surrender your personal pet there is a fee of $40 relinquishment fee, to be paid upon sign-up.
Stray cat surrenders cost nothing outside of the $40 cash deposit for the cat carrier, which is refunded upon the return of the carrier.
All cats MUST be friendly and able to be easily handled in order for us to intake them.
Dogs
Currently, Finding Forever Rescue does not have onsite canine housing. All of our dogs are in loving foster homes. This means that we must schedule a time that works best for our fosters and you in order to take in a dog at this time.
If you are interested in relinquishing a dog please message us on Facebook or email us at [email protected] with photos of the dog, as well as any information you are aware of. Letting us know if the dog has been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, its breed, and how it does with other animals and children can help us as we work to find a foster home for them.
From there, we can work to set up an intake date. A deposit based upon the number/size of the dogs is required to hold the appointment.
